About the Authors

Carolyn HainesUSA Today bestselling author Carolyn Haines, a native of Lucedale, Miss., is the author of 25 books under her own name and 40 Harlequin Intrigues titles under the pseudonymBookCover_CarolynHaines Caroline Burnes. She also writes dark, gothic thrillers under the name C.B. Chesterton. The latest novel in her Sarah Booth Delaney southern mystery series, “Sticks and Bones,” is currently available. Haines is the recipient of a 2009 Richard Wright Award for Literary Excellence, an Alabama State Council on the Arts Writing Fellowship, and the 2010 Harper Lee Award for Distinguished Writer of the Year. Prior to her fiction writing career, she was a journalist, experience which she called invaluable. “It was a fabulous life for a young woman, and I had some terrific adventures,” she said. “I once covered an armed robbery on horseback, and on another occasion had to climb a tree to cover a hostage situation in a graveyard.” Haines is an active animal rescuer and has founded a small rescue nonprofit called Good Fortune Farm Refuge. She cares for nine dogs, nine cats, and six horses.

Kelley ArmstrongKelley Armstrong is a #1 New York Times bestselling author who said she’s been tellingKelley Armstrong stories since before she could write; however, she calls her earliest written efforts “disastrous.” If asked for a story about girls and dolls, hers would invariably feature undead girls and evil dolls, much to her teachers’ dismay. “All efforts to make me produce ‘normal’ stories failed,” she recalled. Today, she continues to spin tales of ghosts and demons and werewolves, while safely locked away in her basement writing dungeon. She is best known for her Otherworld series and also writes the Darkest Powers and Darkness Rising teen series and The Blackwell Pages middle-grade series with Melissa Marr. Armstrong tackles the mystery genre in her new Casey Duncan series. She lives in southwestern Ontario with her husband, kids, and far too many pets.
